1. What is Ikigai Lab?
Ikigai Lab is data school of Indo Canadian AI Company Algo8 AI. It was setup to make students ready for the roles in emerging technologies by teaching real industrial case studies.
2. Who is eligible to apply for these programs?
Any undergraduate student can apply for these programs. The working professionals can also apply for the programs.
3. Does Ikigai Lab help me get a job?
Our placements team is dedicated to your career development. The placements team will help you prepare your resume, portfolio, build your digital profile, practice interviews.
4. What is the duration of the programs?
All the programs are of duration 8 months. 7 months will be full time training and 1 month will be full time capstone project.
5. What is the medium of instruction?
English will be the primary language used for instructions. To get you placed, we will also focus on your soft skills, written and verbal communication.
6. The course hours don’t work for me. Can I attend in my own time?
No, you have to be present in every session.
7. Will I receive a degree or certificate when I graduate from Ikigai Lab?
Ikigai Lab is not an academic institution who can grant degrees, we are a finishing school which focuses on upskilling in the emerging technologies so that students are able to get placed in these roles.
8. Do you offer loaner laptops for prospective students?
No, Students have to join the sessions with their own laptops.
9. What computer specs do I need?
2GHz Processor, 8 GB RAM, Microphone, Web Camera, 256 Hard Drive, Ubuntu, Windows 10, macOS
10. Do I have to take the first job I am offered?
No, we do not or cannot control where you choose to work. Since software developers tend to get raises very quickly, we do recommend not over-optimising your job-search and getting a job as soon as possible.
11. Does college CGPA play any role in the program?
Neither college CGPA nor background plays any role in your entry to the Ikigai Lab programs.
13. Is attendance mandatory?
Yes, a minimum of 90% lecture attendance is required to complete these technology courses. You also need to follow the guidelines mentioned in Ikigai Lab Code of Conduct Policy. Please go through this link to understand Code of Conduct policy.
14. What do I do if I don’t have a Pan Card/Adhaar Card?
As both are mandatory for you to apply for any of our courses, we would suggest you apply for these. These are required for the verification of your profile.
15. What is the course fee?
You have to pay ZERO fees till you start earning a minimum salary of 5 Lakhs per year. After you get a job with the minimum salary requirement, you need to pay 15% of your monthly salary (plus 18% GST) for 24 months or till you reach the maximum total amount of Rs 3,00,000 (including GST) for the Course
16. What is an ISA and how does it work?
An Income Share Agreement (ISA) is a way to pay your Ikigai Lab course fee. A Ikigai Lab ISA is a contract under which you agree to pay 15% of your post-Ikigai Lab salary for 24 months, but only once you’re making more than the ISA threshold salary level (depending on the program you chose) The ISA is capped at a maximum repayment of Rs 3,00,000 (including GST) for the Course.
17. What is the true cost of Ikigai Lab for students who elect to use an ISA?
Ikigai Lab tuition is Rs 3,00,000 (including GST) for the Course. If you do not land a high paying job, you do not pay Ikigai Lab anything. If you land a high-paying job, the most you will pay is the above mentioned details. After you reach the payment cap or complete your 24 monthly payments, you are free of obligation under the ISA. Below is a chart illustrating the total amount you will pay under the ISA payment option in various earning scenarios.
18. Can I see a copy of the ISA?
Yes, of course. As you go through our admission process, a copy of the same will be made available to you at the end.
19. When do my ISA repayments start and what if I get fired or leave a job in between?
It will come into action once you get placed with a more than 5 LPA job within 1 yrs after completion of the course. The Ikigai Lab ISA has built-in protection for financial hardship. If you lose your job or should your income drop below 5LPA, your payments will automatically be paused after you’ve reported the change.
20. What happens if I don’t get an offer for 5 LPA ?
In the rare case that you don’t get a job of Rs. 5 LPA, your ISA payments will not start. They will only start if you get a job > Rs. 5LPA within 1 year of completing the software course.
21. What are the interest rates for the ISA?
Income Share Agreements (ISA) are not loans so they have no interest.
22. Do I need to submit any document post getting a job?
As per the ISA, you will be legally bound to furnish all the documents relevant to your Income such as Offer Letter, Salary Slips, Income Tax Returns, Bank Statements etc.
23. How do I pay my ISA amount?
Our Income Share Agreement (ISA) payment collection is done through our NBFC (Non-banking financial company) partners. Upon clearing your Unit 1 evaluation, i.e. at the end of 4 weeks from the course start date, you would be required to complete the NBFC documentation.
Our assigned NBFC partner will approve a zero interest capital equal to the ISA amount, which you can pay in EMIs of 24 months. The EMIs (equated monthly instalment) would start only after the completion of the software course and you have successfully secured an offer letter above the threshold amount of Rs 5,00,000 (Five Lakhs rupees only) CTC.

There are 5 parts in ILAT –
Business Understanding,
Data Interpretation,
Quantitative Aptitude,
Statistics and Probability, and
Integrated Reasoning.
25. What Tests do i need to take?
You need to take the ILAT to secure an admission into the Ikigai Lab programs.

27. Does Ikigai Lab guarantee a job after the course?
No, we do not guarantee a job after the course. Ikigai Lab is a finishing school where we offer holistic development focusing on technical skills, soft skills and employability quotient. We tie up with many hiring partners, but clearing the interview and securing a job is the responsibility of the student in the end.
28. When will the placements start? and What will be the procedure?
The actual placement process begins upon the completion of your software course which is dependent on your clearing the Ikigai Lab Final Evaluation Test. However, the preparation for the placement process begins during the last leg of your curriculum and runs for a few weeks alongside the coursework.
29. What is the Ikigai Lab Final Evaluation Test?
At the end of the course, Ikigai Lab will conduct an in-depth assessment based on the course curriculum and students who have cleared the final evaluation are considered eligible for the placement.
30. What if I don’t clear the Ikigai Lab Final Evaluation Test?
You can reattempt the Ikigai Lab Final Evaluation Test 3 weeks after you finish the revision modules.
31. Does Ikigai Lab prepare me for the interviews as well?
Our placement cell will work with you during the last few weeks of the program, helping you build a portfolio, resume, online profiles and run you through multiple mock interviews. You will be given preparatory information for any opportunity or company coming in for hiring as well. Additional one-on-one guidance is provided during the placement process, as deemed necessary by the team.
